Aseptic grafting

Aseptic grafting is a grafting technique that involves performing the grafting process in a sterile environment to prevent contamination and ensure the health of the plant tissues. This is done through controlled preparation, proper storage, and adherence to sterile processing guidelines. 

In aseptic grafting, both the rootstock and scion (the plant parts being grafted) are sterilized before being joined, and the grafting process is carried out in a clean, sanitized workspace. This technique helps minimize the risk of bacterial or fungal infections, increasing the success rate of grafts and promoting healthy, disease-free plants. It is commonly used in plant research, the propagation of high-value crops, and the production of genetically uniform plants.
